The demo for the upcoming 3D re-make, Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater is now available to download from the Nintendo eStore on your 3DS so you can give it a try before it’s release on the 9th March (in the UK).

The demo gives you the entire opening section of the game where you see Snake start his mission to rescue the scientist from the Russians and extract him, but first he has to sneak his way past one or two guards whilst also dealing with the local wildlife.

Graphically, Snake Eater looks a bit better then it did the first time around and the 3D does bring an extra depth to the jungle, and there does seem to be a bit of extra detail to the faces of the troops and Snake which for a hand held device is great!

The demo also supports the circle pad pro if you own one and since the PS2 original had dual analogue sticks, it does make things slightly easier when trying to spot a camouflaged guard. I didn’t try it without the circle pad, maybe i’ll give it a go without later. For now, go sneak! Remember its a sneaking mission.

So you thought the party season was over? Well, it’s only just begun as Mario and friends are back in an all-new entertaining family board game as Mario Party 9 launches across Europe for Wii™ on 2nd March 2012. The latest instalment in the ever-popular Mario Party™ franchise introduces all-new game modes, battles against bosses and playable characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, making Mario Party 9 a party that everyone will want to be a part of.

The latest addition to the Mario Party series encourages you to think one step ahead of your opponents to collect the most Mini Stars and defeat Bowser. Bowser and his buddies have stolen all the Mini Stars in the sky and it is up to you to achieve the ultimate goal of winning them all back, in order to become the Super Star.

Party Adventure is a new board game mode which rewrites the Mario Party rule book by allowing four people to move through the board in one vehicle. Players take turns as Captain of the vehicle by hitting Dice Blocks to move the party forward, hoping to land on lucky spaces. The vehicles also help to streamline game play and keep everyone involved in the action. New strategies include find the best routes and positions during your turn, while also pushing your opponents into trickier spots. This game mode challenges you to work with and against your rivals to compete in exciting Minigames to get the stolen Mini Stars back from Bowser and restore the shimmering night sky.

Mario Party 9 includes 80 brand new Minigames, accessible to all fans of Mario games which will find players making pizzas, escaping haunted mansions, and even racing snowmobiles. When playing on a board, the type of space the vehicle lands on determines what type of Minigame is played.

Boss Battle is a brand new Minigame where up to four players must put their differences aside and combine their powers to defeat a series of classic Mario boss characters to collect Mini Stars, leading to a final showdown with Mario’s ultimate nemesis, Bowser. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a team game though, while you may need to work together to defeat the bosses, you will win Mini Stars depending on your ranking and the amount of damage you have dealt to each boss. Deliver the final blow for a bonus that increases your chances to win.

New Mini game modes also allow you to play Mini games without having to complete a board, ensuring you can always enjoy the action, as and when, you like. You and up to three of your friends and family can hone your skills at any Mini game in Free Play mode, or try the Extras mode that includes Goomba Bowling and the puzzle-based Castle Clearout.

Mario Party 9 features an array of your favourite Mario characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, as well as introducing a few characters which are completely new to the Mario Party series. Choose your favourite and keep the rivalry between you and your friends alive as in Mario Party 9 you don’t have to play against the computer in multiplayer – in the board game or the Minigames – and choose to play with up to three of your friends.

With a host of new options on this Wii game, characters and 80 new Minigames to master, all you have to do now is decide when to host your Mario party. Mario Party 9 launches across Europe on 2nd March only on Wii.

Now here’s a bundle which will tickle you pink. Nintendo is launching a new Coral Pink Nintendo 3DS™ which you can pick up in Europe from 18th November, bundled with a copy of nintendogs + cats, offering a purrrrfect gift for Christmas.

Nintendo 3DS, the latest handheld console from Nintendo, offers portable entertainment in 3D without the need for special glasses. With the ability to play Nintendo 3DS games in full 3D or a huge range of Nintendo DS™ and Nintendo DSi™ games in 2D*, Nintendo 3DS offers the best handheld gaming experience for everyone. Take 3D photographs and capture those special moments in 3D video** or access an array of online and downloadable content such as games, demos and movie trailers via the Nintendo eShop. Content like cartoons, music videos and video clips will also download automatically to the console via the SpotPass™ service, and data can be shared wirelessly with other users via the StreetPass™ function.

Now for the first time, your portable pooch has a feline friend to play with and your puppy can take walks with you whilst you’re on the move! Dog and cat lovers alike will have the chance to carry around their adorable puppy or kitten in their pocket. nintendogs + cats offers lifelike 3D graphics and interactivity which creates a fully immersive experience. Your cute puppy will seemingly come alive as he recognises your face using the Nintendo 3DS inner camera, follows your head movements and appears to pop out of the screen to lick you. Once you have his attention, use the stylus and microphone to teach him a variety of tricks through voice commands such as “give paw” or “lie down”.

With a mass of customisation options available; the ability to meet other owners and puppies, swap items and 3D photos via StreetPass; and AR Cards which make your puppy or kitten literally leap around on the table in front of you by using Augmented Reality – this truly has to be seen to be believed.

If you already own nintendogs + cats and like the sound of a Coral Pink Nintendo 3DS, then do not worry as you’ll be able to get your paws on your very own Coral Pink console later this year.

As part of The Legend of Zelda™ 25th Anniversary celebrations Nintendo are offering you three more ways to celebrate all things Zelda as The Legend of Zelda™: Four Swords Anniversary Edition, Limited Edition prepaid card for downloadable games and The Legend of Zelda™: Skyward Sword all arrive before the end of this year.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword represents one of the deepest and richest experiences ever produced by Nintendo. More than 100 staff members have been working for five years to produce the epic story, which includes a new approach to game play and more than 100 minutes of cinematic cut scenes. This role playing game also will feature a boss challenge mode and, for players who need assistance, optional hint movies to help them along. Make sure you experience this epic adventure when it launches on 18th November across Europe for Wii

To get you in the mood for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Nintendo is giving you a unique opportunity to re-live or experience for the very first time on your Nintendo DSi™, Nintendo DSi™XL or your Nintendo 3DS™ system a classic multiplayer Zelda adventure. Download and experience the original classic Game Boy Advance™ game, but this time with additional new areas to play and a single player option to enjoy, which were not in the original game as The Legend of Zelda™: Four Swords Anniversary Edition becomes available to download for free and for a limited time* only on 28th September, on Nintendo DSiWare™.

Fans of the original game or newcomers alike can expect classic 2D multiplayer adventure as two to four players wirelessly connect their Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL or Nintendo 3DS systems as they work together to rescue Princess Zelda after Link splits into four with the help of the Four Sword. You and up to three of your friends will each don a different coloured tunic as you all take on the role of Link. Ensure you work together as you discover and play across four themed areas, solve numerous puzzles and defeat bosses along the way. Make sure you collect more Rupees than your friends if you want to be the overall winner after completing one of the themed areas.

However, unlike the original Game Boy Advance version, it is now possible to play the game in a brand new way as a single player. When you go solo you won’t be totally alone though as an additional Link will appear beside the one you control to help you along during your adventure. It is even possible to independently control “each” Link by selecting either of them using the L or R Buttons.

What’s more, there are 2 exclusive new areas to play each containing 3 new levels to complete which have been specifically made for this edition of the game. By completing the new areas, each Link will be able to unlock additional special skills. Fans of the franchise will be familiar with the Hurricane Spin and Master Sword and both return to help you on your quest.
Mastering the challenging new area ‘Hero’s Trial’ which contains elements from other levels as well as 3 new maps will allow you to unlock the Hurricane Spin, whilst tackling the new area
‘Realm of Memories’ made up of famous locations from selected titles in The Legend of Zelda series, unlocks the Master Sword.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition also includes new control options including “whistle” functionality on the X Button, allowing players to call for attention, alert each other of their location on the map, as well as making use of the lower screen to show your inventory and place on the map.

Visit the Nintendo DSi Shop on your Nintendo DSi / Nintendo DSi XL, or the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo 3DS system to download The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition as it becomes available across Europe for a limited time only as a free download in celebration of The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary from 28th September 2011.

In November, select retailers across Europe will also carry a limited-edition Prepaid Card to highlight the series’ 25th anniversary. The card, which is used in the Nintendo eShop of the Nintendo 3DS system or which can be used in the Wii Shop Channel or Nintendo DSi Shop , features Link™ battling Ganon. Keep an eye out as an additional two limited-edition Prepaid cards featuring different designs will be made available at a later date.
